Your Name.....Richard Arnold

Place of Birth.....Dalby Qld

Where you first started playing Squash.....Brisbane Squash Centre at Newstead. But first played competition Squash at Wavell, and when Boomerang Courts opened I joined Boomerang and played the first year they were in the competition. In 1962.

Your Fondest Memory of the time.....The conviviality under the tree in Paul's Car Park, Hope Street South Brisbane.

Your best achievement on court, as most of us wouldn't have won Open Titles or represented the State, maybe list some of your Pennant wins or Club Titles.....

Even though I played Squash Pennants for many years, I was never successful in winning a pennant.

I won both the Club Championship and the Club Handicap Tournament the first year the events were played in 1963.

Winner of the first Club Senior event the runner up was Merv Carlyon. In 1972. Was also the winner of the 4th Division of the Club Championships in 1975, I finished up 2nd in 1975-76 in Sam and Brian's personal incentive trophy. In 1976 I won the 3rd Division of the Handicap event.

Did you venture into administration or coaching or refereeing or managing teams or played Masters Squash.....

Not really but I was the Patron of the Club from 1966 to 1976.

Who do you admire as the person who has either achieved great things on court or shaped the game off court.....

Joe Williams, the best Club Captain I ever laid eyes on.

Funniest moment you remember.....

Too many and too hard to choose one, we relive many of the funny moments each month when we have our Luncheons.

What are you doing now. As a lot of us would be now retired, list some facts about your working life.....

Now retired, I had a small solicitors practice in Brisbane city for 31 years and enjoyed it.

Did you get married, have kids..... Yes, two children, 1 Boy and 1 Girls both are well and happy.

Anything else you think people might find interesting.....

I belonged to four Squash Clubs but Boomerang was far and away the best.

I am still trying to hit that little black ball around twice a week.

Although I have played numerous sports, Squash is the best by a long way.
